Shepherd’s Whey Creamery is a family owned farm, dairy, and creamery in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. They specialize in minimally-processed goat’s milk, goat’s milk cheese, and cultured goat’s milk yogurt and smoothies. Since 2003 the Behrmann family has been raising goats and producing goat-dairy products with the utmost devotion and care in hopes that their community and our planet might benefit from wholesome food and a simple lifestyle.
The Shepherd’s Whey Creamery was established in 2012 after receiving their Grade A dairy certification. They run a mini-store on the farm and sell their products locally at farmers markets, restaurants and specialty stores. Find them at Dupont Circle farmers market all year long and be sure to try these unique Shepherd’s Whey staples: Goatgurt (their version of goat milk yogurt), Cajeta (a goat milk caramel) and Napoleon’s Peak (their signature pyramid cheese).
